Internet CCTV System
This type of system
utilises your existing computer to monitor and record the camera
images, you could use wired or wireless cameras. Cameras can be desk
or wall mounted and able to reproduce a fixed field of view or
pan/tilt/zoom internal and/or external on the property. This type of
setup enables you to view the cameras via the internet from work or
when you are on holiday. This works by notifying you via a simple
text/email message when an intruder has entered your property, you
can then go online and view your cameras live. The text
messaging/email facility can easily be turned off allowing you to
view your cameras as and when you need to. For example; it is a
great way to monitor the mischief your dog gets up to during the day
or see the kids when they get home from school. The system has
password only access preventing authorised viewing of cameras.

Conventional Hardwired CCTV System
This type of system
would normally be viewed on your existing TV via a DVR. For example
if the camera is placed at the front of your property it would
normally be located at high level with cables passing through into
the loft area. The video signal is then fed directly into a DVR
which is then connected to your existing TV RCA, SCART or aerial
cable, thus enabling the camera to be viewed on your TV. The DVR
only records movement known as 'Motion Detection'. All motion
recorded is stored within the DVR onto a computer hard drive. The
recorded footage can be played back anytime from the comfort of your
sofa using the remote control supplied with the DVR.
